NLP Training - A Guide For the Confused

A fast search on the Internet for both NLP and NLP Trainers will supply you with a broad selection of classes, offers, training professionals and promises of private power. With such a broad range of choices how are you going to know who to train and where to get honest information about the actual value of the classes available?
Here are a couple things to help you in your choice.

1) What do you want from NLP?

Some people simply wish to know more about NLP Training in Delhi and what it could provide. If that is the need there are some excellent resources on the internet which could give you a sense of what NLP is and what it does. Try to avoid the more hysterical sites with promises of personal power, control of the brain and persuasive discussions. Start looking for quality sites and sites. Inspire NLP, SNLP, Institute NLP, NLP Academy, McKenna-Bandler-Breen, John Seymour Associates are a Few of the established training businesses and of course Richard Bandler, John Grinder, Steve Andreas, Judith DeLozier are names to research.
If you want a little more information attempt to attend a 1 day seminar or introductory workshop. This will give you a true sense of what NLP is all about. If there are no workshops in your area then get in touch with a local NLP Trainer or Registered Practitioner they will always be prepared to answer your questions or at least point you in the right direction.
If your purpose is to use NLP as a part of your work or business or whether you want to become a Coach or Therapist of a description then you will need to attend a Practitioner Training program.
2) Not all courses are made equal
It follows that training bodies may be a law unto themselves in terms of what forms the basis of their training. That being said the three levels of instruction recognised by NLP (Practitioner, Master Practitioner and Trainer) do have concur minimum criteria concerning content - the things that need to be educated and understood in each of the degrees.
The huge debate seems to come from the manner of delivery and length of each of the classes.

On the plus side they involve a relatively low amount of private investment but on the downside how do you learn communication routines, intervention techniques and rapport building skills if you're working together with other people under the guidance of a coach?

You will read about'intensive courses' running from between 1 and 7 days.
On the plus side you may cover the core elements of this essential training. On the downside where do you have the space to reflect upon the patterns and thoughts you've heard, let alone have the ability to implement them with any level of confidence. Trainers who provide these'intensive courses' often make a lot of the support stuff, the pre-learning along with also the'speed at which the unconscious mind can learn'. This writer and trainer would argue that even with the best stuff the private transformation, internalisation of approaches and re-evaluation of personal values and attitudes is something which requires care, support and time. Authentic the NLP techniques can be learned quickly and easily, but the heart and soul of NLP is something which develops from sharing and exploring experiences with others.
